Carrie Magin
With music of luminous vocal resonance, percussive intensity, and shimmering instrumentation, internationally-performed composer Carrie Magin traverses a wide emotional range with her fresh and universal voice. This “wonderful emerging composer” (conductor Brett Scott) has accepted honors including a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship, four Art Education Grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, and composer residencies with the Interlochen Arts Academy Band, Georgia Institute of Technology, Minnesota State University Moorhead, and Chamber Music Campania in Foggia, Italy. Carrie Magin is currently Assistant Professor of Composition and Theory at Houghton University in upstate NY, where she was recently named the Mabel Barnum Davidson Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts. She is also a composition faculty member at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan.
